8 Toronto coffee shops now stamping the Dairy Disloyalty Card
Toronto’s newest coffee tour is part of a global movement trying to persuade coffee drinkers to ditch dairy in lieu of plant-based milks.
The Dairy Disloyalty Card is now being honoured at eight Toronto cafes along with participating coffee shops in Barcelona, Glasgow, London, Madrid, Melbourne, and Sydney.
Launched earlier this week in celebration of World Plant Milk Day on August 22, the initiative from Oat Milk-makers Minor Figures, encourages coffee drinkers to sample from the world of oat, nut, soy, and coconut milks on the market.
In Toronto, participating coffee shops include two locations of Creeds Coffee Bar and a trio of Strange Love Coffee outposts along with The Library Specialty Coffee, Tori’s Bakeshop, and Fika Cafe. Each cafe will have Disloyalty Cards available for pick-up and stamp cards for every plant milk coffee ordered.
Prizes are available for the first 200 people to complete the card before September 22.
According to the initiative’s website, “there are no catches here, to do this all you have to do is: be disloyal to your regular habits. Disloyal to your favourite barista. Disloyal to your usual coffee. Disloyal to your routine. And most importantly we want to encourage you to be Disloyal to Dairy.”
