Toronto's COVID-19 vaccine booking system to be interrupted tomorrow

Mar 13 2021, 11:11 pm

The City of Toronto is warning residents that its online COVID-19 vaccine booking system will be briefly interrupted this weekend.

In a release, the city said the system will be down from 8 pm on March 14, until sometime in the morning on March 15.

The interruption is due to the Province of Ontario launching its own vaccine booking system and call centre.

Three of the city’s mass COVID-19 vaccination clinics are set to open to eligible residents next week.

On March 17, those who are 80 years of age and older can receive a vaccine at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, and Toronto Congress Centre.

As well, vaccinations will begin at the Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Community Centre clinics on March 29, and at The Hangar site on April 5.

Toronto’s online vaccine booking system opened to seniors on Friday. As of Saturday morning, the city said 7,878 people had made an appointment at one of its six clinics.

To date, 239,198 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.
