You can enjoy FREE coffee with a cop at this downtown McDonald's today

This afternoon, Torontonians have the opportunity to sit down with Toronto Police and enjoy a cup of coffee at Mickey Dee’s.

From 1 pm to 4 pm, Coffee with a Cop will take place at McDonald’s at 470 Yonge Street.

Officers will be in attendance at the eatery, ready to sit down with community members in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and, of course, drink the bean juice.

The event is relaxed, and intended to open the floor for discussions about issues community residents feel are important.

Attendees will enjoy a free small hot brewed coffee.

Coffee with a Cop aims to breaks down barriers and allow for one-on-one interaction.

The program intends to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members.

And everyone knows that, while you don’t win friends with salad, coffee gets you pretty far.
