An 18-year-old female has been arrested following a hit-and-run incident in Brampton was caught on video and shared on social media.

According to Peel police, on Friday, August 10 just before 1 pm, officers responded to the intersection of Wanless Drive and Tournament Drive in Brampton.

Police spoke with two victims who informed the officers they both had their vehicles struck by a female driving a white sedan and that vehicle had fled the scene.

One victim attempted to stop the female from leaving the scene of the accident, only to be struck by the vehicle which caused minor injuries.

A video of the altercation uploaded to Facebook shows the driver of a white sedan arguing with two other women and a man who is not seen on camera.

One of the women can be seen trying to block the car with her body as the driver accelerates forward trying to escape, striking the woman’s leg and hitting the curb. The driver of the sedan then reverses her car and flees the scene.

“My sister was almost killed by a deranged driver in Brampton today. The driver hit two cars, including my sister’s, and ran her over. Hit and run. Peel Police are searching for her. If you recognize her, please report to police,” reads the Facebook post.

Police say 18-year-old Carly Napoli has since been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Napoli is scheduled to make a court appearance in September.
