Toronto Blue Jays expected to have MLB season-high 50/50 this week

Toronto Blue Jays fans may want to get their hands on some 50/50 tickets ahead of Wednesday night’s game versus the New York Yankees.

The third and final outing of this ongoing three-game series between the Jays and Yankees will see the winner get picked for what is being deemed the “Jackpot of the Summer.” The final prize is expected to be worth more than $2 million, which would be the biggest 50/50 draw the MLB has had this season. It will also mark the sixth time someone has become a multi-millionaire through the Jays’ 50/50 raffle.

As if the opportunity to win all that money weren’t a good enough reason to buy a ticket, the winner of the draw will receive a phone call from Blue Jays icon Joe Carter informing them that they won. The draw will come late Wednesday night, while Carter will reach out to the winner Thursday morning.

Fans who won’t be attending Rogers Centre tonight or tomorrow need not worry, as tickets can also be purchased online. Packages include 600 tickets for $200, 250 tickets for $100, 100 tickets for $50, 25 tickets for $25, and five tickets for $10.

A big part of the reason this draw is getting so big is likely due to all the excitement surrounding the Blue Jays. Despite having rather low expectations entering the season, they sit first in the AL East with an impressive 59-41 record. The Yankees, meanwhile, sit second at 55-45.

Both tonight’s game and Wednesday night’s finale versus the Yankees are set to get underway at 7:07 pm ET. It’ll be Max Scherzer on the mound for the Jays tonight, while Chris Bassitt will get the ball tomorrow.
