Ticket prices skyrocketing in Toronto for Blue Jays-Yankees series

Excitement is building in quick fashion regarding this current Toronto Blue Jays team.

Despite not being viewed as a playoff team entering the 2025 season, the Blue Jays sit atop the AL East division with a 59-41 record. They also set a franchise record on Monday night with their 11th straight home victory.

That win came against their divisional rival New York Yankees, who sit second in the AL East with a 55-45 record. They have two games remaining in this extremely important series, and fans in Toronto are well aware.

There aren’t many tickets left for either game remaining in this series versus the Yankees, and the ones left available aren’t cheap. The lowest price available for tonight’s game on Ticketmaster is going for $179.80, while there are plenty of others going for north of $800.

Things are quite similar for the series finale on Wednesday night, with the cheapest tickets available at this time going for $183.26.

Fans wanting to catch some Blue Jays baseball for a good price this season are still in luck, as their next home series from Aug. 1 to Aug. 3 versus the Kansas City Royals has tickets available for just $20. Those could increase by the time that series is ready to get underway, though this may be an indication of just how important these next two games against the Yankees are.

Though the Blue Jays have made the playoffs as recently as 2023, it feels like there hasn’t been this much excitement and buzz surrounding the team since the 2015 and 2016 seasons, where they were viewed as true World Series contenders thanks to some elite talent that included the likes of Jose Bautista and Josh Donaldson.

This Blue Jays team still has a ways to go before bringing home a World Series, though optimism in Toronto and all of Canada is seemingly increasing with each and every win they put together.
