A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed during the opening night of the Beaches Jazz Streetfest on Thursday night.
The Toronto police said they responded to a call for a stabbing in the area of Hammersmith Avenue and Queen Street East just after 11 pm, around the time that the festival was ending.
A map on the Beaches Jazz Fest website shows that the stabbing occurred right in the middle of the large festival.
According to police, the victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they are now searching for a white male suspect who is believed to be in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, close-fitting jeans, and black shoes.
