You can say goodbye to spending hours waiting in bumper to bumper traffic on Highway 400 during busy cottage weekends.

That’s if you don’t mind ponying up for a flight from Toronto to Muskoka.

As of Friday, FlyGTA is offering air taxi service from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport to Muskoka Airport in Gravenhurst in about 35 minutes.

FlyGTA’s Toronto to Muskoka service will cost you $140 one-way, which includes fees and HST. Flights run once a day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Which sounds pretty reasonable considering how frustrating it can be sitting in gridlock traffic on a beautiful holiday weekend.

According to the FlyGTA website, Friday flights depart from Billy Bishop airport at 7 pm, which is perfect for those wanting to be lakeside in under an hour after a busy day at work. Saturday flights depart from Toronto at 1 pm while Sunday flights head north at 5 pm.

There are additional fees for luggage, depending on the size. FlyGTA uses a twin engine Piper Panther aircraft that can accommodate up to eight passengers at a time.
