IKEA Crayfish Party 2019

What: The Swedish chain of build-it-yourself furniture and home decor stores is offering Canadians a special culinary experience this month that you don’t want to miss this evening. It’s a crayfish party, and it’s going down at IKEA locations across the country on August 14 and 25. This event features a hot and cold buffet of eats including crayfish, meatballs, salmon, and desserts. Folks can also expect Swedish entertainment, and tickets are only $22.99 each.

Open Roof Festival

What: Open Roof Festival will be back for its tenth season this summer will feature live music and film screenings with food and drinks. And remember: The event has moved from Sudbury Street to Sterling Road in the Lower Junction Triangle near the new site of MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art). The evening will kick off with a performance from Sam Drysdale, and the feature film is Late Night.

Regent Park Film Festival: Black Panther

What: Under The Stars returns to Regent Park for the sixth year in a row, showing widely-loved films that prominently feature Indigenous, Black, and People of Colour on screen. Each week, there will be a pre-show before the film with family-friendly activities that change week to week. Tonight’s screening is Black Panther.

Movie Nights in The Beach Village

What: Movie Nights are back for 2019! Join The Beach Village for Movie Nights in the Park. Movies will be played on large projector screens beginning at dusk and alternating each Wednesday between Kew Gardens and Ivan Forrest Gardens. Tonight’s screening is Pitch Perfect 3.
