It’s almost time for the Toronto Zoo’s newest exhibit to open to the public.

This Friday, December 13, the new light experience, designed by Montreal-based company Moment Factory Inc., will be taking over the zoo, consisting of interactive displays and serving as an after-hours ticketed event that promotes conservation awareness.

Titled “Terra Lumina,” the exhibit is the eleventh unique experience created in Moment Factory’s Lumina night walk series.

After nightfall this winter, zoo guests are invited to explore the immersive experience, which follows a 1.5 km walking path that travels into the future and back, according to the Toronto Zoo.

The nearly 60-minute journey begins when a portal carries you into the luminescent wonders of the year 2099, a time when humans and nature have learned to live in harmony.

“Let yourself be transported by vibrant lighting, multimedia effects, breathtaking video projections, and an original score to an enchanted world filled with possibility. And explore this bright and hopeful future to reveal the powerful secrets of tomorrow,” reads the Zoo’s website.

Admission for the event is $29.99 for adults, $24.99 for children, and $27.99 for seniors, and can be purchased online.

Moment Factory has previously created Lumina exhibits in Kingston, Whistler, Quebec, and internationally at the Singapore Zoo.
