Temperatures in Toronto expected to swing nearly 25°C in the next 48 hours

We told you on Tuesday that Environment Canada was predicting spring-like temperatures in Toronto for Family Day Weekend.

But we wouldn’t fault you for thinking that was wrong. (Hell, someone built an igloo downtown earlier this week.)

According to Environment Canada, however, the current temperature in Toronto when factoring in windchill is -10°C, while The Weather Network has it ‘feeling like’ -14°C overnight tonight. 

Despite those frigid numbers however, both are reporting that by Saturday the temperature in Toronto will rise to a balmy 10°C or 11°C. That’s a 24°C swing in what it feels like outside between tonight and the first day of Family Day weekend.

In fact, Sunday’s expected to be just as nice as Saturday, with temperatures reaching a high of 10°C while offering a mix of sun and cloud:

If you were thinking of taking off for the long weekend, this weather might have you reconsidering.

After all, a staycation with perfect weather is often better than a vacation without it…
