17-year-old dead following daylight stabbing in Scarborough

A 17-year-old boy is dead following a daylight stabbing in Scarborough Monday afternoon.

Just after 12:15 pm on Monday, May 6, officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the area of Livingston Road and Earswick Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

He has been identified as 17-year-old Brendon Bowler of Toronto.

Following the incident, Police say two people were arrested at the scene and a weapon was also seized.

Emmett Carew, 18, and Cheddi Itwaroo, 20, both from Toronto, have since each been charged with one count of second degree murder.

They are both scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
