3 teen boys arrested after stabbing at Vaughan Mills

Three teenage boys have been charged in relation to a stabbing that occurred outside Vaughan Mills Mall on Thursday night.

Shortly after 6 pm on January 2, York Regional Police were reportedly called to the shopping centre, located at 1 Bass Pro Mills Drive, for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a 14-year-old male suffering from stab wounds.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say that with the help of security personnel, it was determined that a large group of youths were involved in a fight outside of the mall. Shortly after the fight began, the victim was reportedly stabbed and the group involved mostly dispersed.

Three youths who were involved were located. A 14-year-old male has been charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Assault With a Weapon.

A 12-year-old and 13-year-old male were also each charged with Attempted Murder – Party To The Offence, Aggravated Assault — Party To The Offence, and Assault With a Weapon — Party To The Offence.

Police believe that witnesses captured video of this incident on their mobile but fled before law enforcement arrived. Those witnesses are encouraged to contact investigators as soon as possible. The investigation is ongoing.
