Small Business Spotlight: Trufan offers free social insights to small businesses in need

Apr 24 2020, 2:00 pm

Our consumption and behaviours as consumers have evolved less than six months into 2020. We’re thinking more about the purchases we make in terms of need and value.

In the same way, local businesses are paying special attention to their offerings, social media presence, and how they are marketing products in a bid to establish connections with potential customers.

The average amount of time spent using apps worldwide increased by 20% in the first quarter of this year, making now the perfect time for brands to grow online. To help make that happen, Toronto-based social intelligence startup Trufan is offering support to small businesses.

The company acquired NYC’s SocialRank in November 2019 — a platform that helps businesses to identify, organize and manage their audience on social media. Today, it helps brands engage their grassroots communities of advocates and micro-influencers, having worked with brands like the NFL, NBA, Samsung, Netflix, and United Talent Agency.

Trufan is currently giving a free 45-day SocialRank trial to small businesses with one exception: they must have under 25,000 followers.

“We have always looked for opportunities to help our community. In our first year of operating, we gave away free social media best practices guides, and in our second year, we ran themed events around mental health and social media consumption,” Swish Goswami, CEO and founder of Trufan tells Daily Hive.

He explains that social media usage has skyrocketed, and more businesses are realizing the necessity of building an online presence and engaging their top advocates. In two weeks, Trufan has seen over 1,000 small and medium-sized businesses sign up for the free trial.

“We’re seeing that number grow by 50 to 60 each day,” says Goswami. “This is thanks to a lot of our partners that have promoted this offering to their community. Our partners include Clearbanc, Lightspeed POS, Bold eCommerce, STADIA Ventures, League of Innovators, and the DMZ.”

Creative Mychael Henry shares his experience of Trufan’s current offer: “SocialRank is unreal. I’ve only been on it for a few minutes and can already see the power of it.” Henry pays a special mention to the intuitive’s UI and the scope of data.

Businesses using the trial will have access to all of the features, filters, and over two billion user profiles on SocialRank. Those interested in signing up are required to fill out a short survey to get started.
