Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto this afternoon.
Looks like the hot, humid air may result in “scattered robust thunderstorms” across Southern Ontario.
They warn that the thunderstorms may be accompanied by heavy downpours of up to 40 mm of rain, along with wind gusts to 70 km/hour and 1 centimetre of hail…. HAIL!
While it may sound like a wild weather ride, Environment Canada says that the thunderstorms should weaken early this evening.
Looks like the thunder and lightning may stick around for a day (or several). And the rain will continue too… just as it has all summer.
