A winter storm arrived in the Greater Toronto Area Saturday, bringing snow and wind.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning Friday, and that warning remains in effect Saturday afternoon. Up to 15 more centimetres of snow is in the forecast for some areas of the city.
“Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions,” the weather agency said.
The Ontario Provincial Police are dealing with a number of collisions on the regions’ highways, and asked drivers to be careful.
Multiple minor collisions now being reported on the #QEW from #Niagara to #Burlington, please drive accordingly in this treacherous weather. ^kw#SeeSnowGoSlow

Pearson International Airport also advised travellers to check on flight delays before heading to the airport.
Heavy snow is in the forecast 🌨️. Delays and cancellations are expected so please check your flight status with your airline. Our central deicing facility is the largest in the world and is key to keeping you moving in winter weather. pic.twitter.com/jPjPuytKqE
