More Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

Four more Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported several COVID-19 cases among their staff this week.

According to Loblaws Ltd., on November 3, four separate Shoppers Drug Mart locations in and around Toronto reported cases on the same day.

The first location, a Shoppers Drug Mart at 4865 Leslie Street confirmed a positive case among one of their staff members on Tuesday. The last day they worked was on October 30.

The second Shoppers Drug Mart location, 265 Port Union Road in Scarborough reported a positive case among one of their staff members. The last day they worked was on October 29.

The third location is at another Scarborough Shoppers Drug Mart, 629 Markham Road, and an employee tested positive for the virus. The last day they worked was October 22.

The final location where an employee tested positive for coronavirus, reported on November 3, was at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Willowdale 1800 Sheppard Avenue East. The last day the team member worked was on October 24.

Grocers such as Loblaws and Metro have also reported cases of coronavirus in employees over the weekend.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
