Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

Four Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported several COVID-19 cases among their staff this week.

According to Loblaws Ltd., on October 31 a Shoppers Drug Mart location at 1355 Kingston Road in Pickering reported a positive case among one of its employees. The last day they worked was on October 21.

On November 1, a Shoppers Drug Mart at 1235 McCowan Road in Scarborough reported a positive case. The last day they worked was on October 30.

The same day, another Shoppers Drug Mart location at 4700 Keele Street reported a positive case. The last day they worked was on October 28.

On November 2, a team member at a Shoppers Drug Mart location at 45 Overlea Boulevard also reported a positive COVID-19 case among its staff members. The last day that the employee worked was on October 29.

Grocers such as Loblaws and Metro have also reported cases of coronavirus in employees over the weekend.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
