The most Instagramable time of year will soon be here.

That’s right… cherry blossom season is around the corner.

While it’s still too early to determine an exact date of when we can expect to see some blossoms, Sakura in High Park’s most recent update reports the park’s cherry blossom trees are showing a great start to the season.

This relatively-mild winter, according to Sakura in High Park, has resulted in less stress on the trees than other seasons have seen.

Many trees are reportedly showing branches full of well-shaped, round cherry blossom buds, with many of them in beautiful deep bronze colours.

The report says that while “it’s far too early” to determine the exact date, “for now, all signs are pointing to a possible bloom at some point between late April to early May.”

It also notes that Tokoyo, as well as other parts of Japan, are already predicting their blossoms will bloom a few days earlier than last year.

Last year, the cherry blossoms hit peak bloom on May 10, attracting thousands of Torontonians to High Park.

This news, combined with the week’s mild weather, is offering a glimmer of hope to close the long and dark months of winter.

Finally, all signs are pointing to spring.
