It’s a busy weekend in Toronto with two festivals taking place. This means there will be some road closures to be aware of before heading out on your weekend commute.
Friday, July 7 to Sunday, July 9
The Taste of Lawrence festival is taking place this weekend. As a result, Lawrence Avenue East, from Birchmount Road to Warden Avenue will be closed from 10 am on Friday, July 7, to the end of Sunday, July 9.
Friday, July 7 to Monday, July 10
Queen Street between Yonge Street and Bay Street will be closed from 11:30 pm Friday, July 7 until 5 am Monday, July 10 for the installation of a new pedestrian bridge at the Hudson Bay Company building. There will also be no access to James Street during this period.
Eastbound traffic on Queen Street will be diverted at Bay Street and westbound traffic on Queen Street will be diverted at Yonge Street.
Saturday, July 8 to Sunday, July 9
The 13th annual Salsa on St. Clair festival will take place on Saturday, July 8 at 8 am until the end of Sunday, July 9.
Approximately 100,000 people are expected to attend the festival.
St. Clair Avenue West, from Winona Drive to Christie Street will be closed from July 8, at 8 am until July 9, at 11:59 pm.
The following TTC service adjustments will also take place:
Passage across St. Clair Avenue West will be accommodated by buses operating on detour via Davenport, one block south of St. Clair Avenue – between Bathurst Street and Oakwood Avenue during event hours.
Motorists can expect traffic delays in the area and are advised to consider alternate routes.
This event will take place regardless of weather conditions
