Editor’s note: this story has been updated as of Friday, November 22 to include additional information provided by Pick 6ix Sports.

The lease on Drake’s Pick 6ix Sports appears to have been terminated by property management after $67,514.73 in unpaid rent. However, the restaurant says otherwise.

Late Monday night, the restaurant announced that it would be closed until further notice due to flooding.

But by Thursday, a notice was posted above Pick 6ix’s sign suggesting otherwise.

The notice from the property manager shows that the lease has been terminated by the landlord on November 18.

The notice was addressed to Jungle Lion Management, and delivered to several people by email including Chubbs, Drake’s business partner and friend.

Inside, the restaurant looked empty on Thursday just after lunch hour, and there was no signs of flooding visible from the front door.

When reached for comment, Jeff Darby, the restaurant’s operations manager, told Daily Hive that the restaurant is closed due to flooding.

“We have always paid rent on time and this month is no different, despite a number of issues with the building – including two floods in the past two years due to issues with the pipes,” Darby told Daily Hive.

“We plan to continue to work with the landlord to resolve any misunderstanding and get back to repairing the restaurant from the water damage. We want to thank our customers for their patience and hope to reopen again in the new year.”

Darby shared images of the flooding and damage to the restaurant with Daily Hive, which can be seen below:

This was the second time the space has reported that it’s been forced to close due to flooding in recent years. In summer 2018, what was then simply called Pick 6ix, closed due to water damage.

The restaurant closed and reopened this past spring as Pick 6ix Sports.
