The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced that all Ontario casinos will be temporarily closing.

In a statement released Sunday, the corporation confirmed an orderly shutdown for all casinos in the province had begun, and it was expected to be completed within 24 hours, approximately.

“This action is consistent with the recommendations of the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health related to new precautionary measures for COVID-19,” read the release.

OLG assured patrons that it will give an update of when the casinos are expected to re-open in accordance with guidance from public health authorities.

With coronavirus on the rise, Health Canada is reminding individuals who attend events and large gatherings to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if you’re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. Also, due to unexpected cancellations, please check the event you plan to attend is still taking place.
