After months of pushing pause in shopping and food industries due to the pandemic, local makers are reemerging in a new way next month.
The One Of A Kind Show, a bi-annual Toronto event highlighting local makers, is launching its first-ever summer event, to be held in a virtual format, in order to support artisans with a little extra love.
Organized by champions of craft and creativity, the all-new summer extension of the show will take place on the One Of A Kind Show’s Instagram Stories where, over the course of July, more than 100 creative entrepreneurs, all across the nation, will be featured.
“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Canadian spirit than to highlight the kind, courageous and resilient makers in our community,” Janice Leung, the show’s director, said in a release.

For the July show, the One Of A Kind website will have a dedicated landing page with links to maker’s Instagram profiles and online stores. Then, over on Instagram Stories, would-be customers will find a roster of features, where makers will be highlighted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
As One Of A Kind’s first step to ensure a variety of voices that truly represent Canada’s makers are highlighted, the show will be awarding scholarships for 20 highlight-spots in the July Virtual Show to BIPOC applicants.
