Your Instagram feed will soon be flooded with pictures of your friends eating ice cream out of adorable fish-shaped cones.

That’s right, the insanely Instagrammable Taiyaki ice cream from New York is heading north of the border and setting up its first Canadian location in Toronto.

Known for its fish-shaped Japanese waffle cones that are chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside, Taiyaki opened its first location in 2016 in Manhattan and has since opened additional locations in Miami and Brooklyn.

For those who have yet to try the wickedly sweet dessertĀ here’s how it works:

First, customers choose a flavour of soft serve, like vanilla, chocolate, matcha, or black sesame.

Next, choose a filling to go in the tail of the freshly baked fish cone, like house-made custard or red bean. The cone is then topped off with a wafer stick, mini-mochi rice cakes or sprinkles.

The result is a delicious, warm, cakey soft serve cone that’s guaranteed to be blow up your social media feed.
