British funny man and former Golden Globes Awards host Ricky Gervais is coming to Toronto this summer.
Gervais announced his first worldwide tour in seven years, which included the one Canadian date. His show “Humanity” brings his raunchy stand-up comedy to Massey Hall on July 14, and has now added two more dates to his tour in the city. He will be here on July 15 and 16 as well.
Besides being the first show in years, this is actually Gervais’ first ever stand-up tour in Canada.
I have decided to do 3rd show at the Massey Hall on Sunday July 16th. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 10am. Good Luck pic.twitter.com/lsTNOSZDoz

Gervais has had a busy couple of years with the international theatrical and DVD release, alongside the exclusive partnership with Netflix USA, of mockumentary comedy feature film David Brent: Life On The Road. Last year, Special Correspondents, which Gervais wrote, directed and starred, was launched on Netflix worldwide, and Gervais also hosted the Golden Globes for a 4th time.
Perhaps best known as being the creator and star of The Office, Extras, and Derek, the award-winning stand-up comic’s shows are known to sell out in minutes. So you won’t want to hold back on this one.
Speaking of his upcoming gig, Gervais said:
“Thousands of people paying hard earned cash to come and see you live is such a privilege. You’d better have something different, interesting and funny to say. Humanity is my angriest, most honest and I think my best tour yet. It’s probably my most personal too. I feel I may as well tell you everything before I die. Hope you enjoy it. Or not. There are no refunds. Just like life, I guess. I’m thrilled to be able to take this tour around the world and look forward to performing stand-up to a Canadian audience for the first time. I’m coming to your town! (If your town has an arena and a 5-star hotel with a helipad.)”.
