A water main break at an intersection in Mississauga sent water shooting 60-feet into the air Wednesday evening.
Peel police were called to the scene at Copenhagen Road and Fayette Circle around 5:20 pm after receiving reports of water spouting high into the air.
“Complainant reports that water is shooting 60 feet in the air,” police said in a tweet.

In a video shared on Twitter by Peel Regional Police, you can see a large spray of water shooting out of a hole in the road.

During the incident, drivers and residents were advised to stay away, with Police later adding “Yup, that’s a lot of water.”
Despite the mess the water break caused, it looks like Peel police found some humour in the situation and tweeted, “hopefully the officers on scene had an umbrella.”

Police later tweeted that the water had been shut off around 7 pm and crews remained on scene to repair the damage.
Update: Water has been shut off however crews remain on scene to repair damage. We have cleared but do believe that restrictions are in place.
