Suspect connected to 5 sexual assaults near York University arrested

A man was arrested and charged in connection to as many as five sexual assaults and one robbery near York University.

A day after a news conference by Toronto Police appealing the public’s assistance is seeking the identify of the suspect, officers say they have arrested the man.

For investigative reasons, his name and information will not be released at this time, said Toronto Police, who thank the public for their assistance.

On Friday, after Initial reports from the Toronto police of three sexual assaults occurring in December and October involving women 20 and 22-years-old, police revealed an investigation into two more, all believed to be connected.

Police reported that 5 incidents of sexual assaults occurred since October in the same area, with the suspect described as black, with a round face, 18-25 years old, 5’8′ to 5’10”, slim build, short black hair, clean shaven with thick lips. He was usually wearing a hooded sweatshirt or jacket and dark and/or camouflage pants.
