You can drink beer while you shop at Toronto's newest grocery store

Liberty Village has just welcomed a special new addition to the neighbourhood.

Longo’s has opened a fully licensed location at 1100 King Street West, which means you can enjoy a beer while you shop.

The grocery store has teamed up with Amsterdam Brewing Co. to offer craft beers brewed in-house, which will be available on rotating taps year-round. The brewery is located inside Longo’s staple beverage spot, Corks Beer and Wine, and will mark the store’s first-ever brewery integration.

“We are incredibly proud of this collaboration and excited to offer Longo’s customers the opportunity to enjoy locally crafted beer alongside a range of other craft and artisan products,” said Jeff Carefoote, owner and CEO of Amsterdam Beer, in a release.

“We have a deep-rooted history in Toronto and we know that this partnership with Longo’s will further enhance our ability to connect with our customers in authentic ways and continually offer innovative brews.”

Alongside fresh beers, visitors to the store can also be able to get their hands on collaborative eats, like the Amsterdam Boneshaker short rib agnolotti.

Fitting, as they say it’s never a good idea to shop while you’re hungry.

The new store offers hot and prepared foods, including fresh pasta and pizza, and guests are also able to purchase coffee in-store from Toronto-based Jacked Up Coffee.

You’ll be able to order ahead through Ritual, and delivery on prepared foods will be available through Uber Eats. Grocery Gateway same-day pickup will also be available.

The store will operate weekly Sunday to Saturday, from 7 am to 10 pm.
