“Moistly” and other licence plates Ontario doesn’t want on the road

Aug 21 2020, 7:04 pm

What do COVID-19, religion, and political figures have in common? They’re all part of a long list of licence plates that were rejected by the Government of Ontario this year.

From May 1 to May 31, the provincial government rejected 3,887 licence plates that were deemed to be either inappropriate or unreadable.

Of course this year, COVID was in a fair number of plates, which include: COVID; COVID 19: NO COVID; and FKCOVID.

And references to the pandemic were also rejected like PANDEMIK, THEVIRUS, and MOISTLY — most likely from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s infamous incident saying masks prevent people from “speaking moistly.”

Plates are rejected on numerous grounds for being too political, violent, sexual, or on religious grounds, or profanity.

The most rejected plates were for religious grounds and difficult readability.

Some tried to have phrases instead of numbers like R4PTRS, 5UPERDAD, RAVNCL4W and 5CHMITTY, which were given the boot.

And, the province was strict around rejecting plates that had references to the devil, evil, heaven, and hell.

Abusive, obscene or derogatory language

The list of these plates are extensive with people trying to get away with: 68BADASS; ARSEY; CHKNBUTT; BADAZZZZ; DAMNSUN; and CRZYMOFO.

Drug and alcohol

The plates that were rejected for having drug or alcohol were: JUICED95; CANNIBUS; HANGOV3R; CRFTBEER; PB30.ALE; and WEED.UP.

Human rights discrimination

The COVID licence plates are in this category as well as, DAFATBOI, H8BRUINS, HATEFUL8, HILLBLY1, M3ANGLRZ, and REDDNEKK.

Sexual (and eliminatory functions)

Some of the plates include: A WEEWEE, CRAPPER, BANGBUSS, GOT POOP, MY.TTS, SNDNUDE5, and UNAUGHTY.

Political figures, dignitaries and law enforcement officials

This category included multiple plates that had the terms police, OPP, RCMP and TPS on them as well as famous political figures.

These included: OPP.007; P.POLICE; BADGEMAN; GADDAFI; RCMPGIRL; TPS.02; DJ.TRUMP; and POLICEYA.

Violence and criminal activity

Some of the plates read: BOMBERS; CHOPPA; DRTYMNEY; GANGWAR; MOLOTOV; and PONISHER.
