LCBO introduces extended hours but remains closed on Mondays

The LCBO has expanded its hours of operation on select days of the week, but the adjustment of opening hours has not yet reached Mondays.

Now, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, stores will operate from 10 am to 10 pm.

By this time, in respect to reopening from the pandemic, most locations have resumed regular operations from Tuesdays to Saturdays, with extended hours on Sundays, the LCBO said.

All locations will remain closed on Mondays for the time being.

The store locator feature on the LCBO’s website allows customers to check their local store hours, as they may vary.

When the LCBO initially began reintroducing extended hours in May — what was then more of a return to normal operations — the liquor control board said the change would offering increased convenience and alleviate potential in-line congestion.

The expansion of store hours follows previous actions taken to elevate store cleaning and sanitization protocols, introduce numerous physical distancing supports, and increased prevention awareness amongst employees.

Still, customers should follow guidelines for physical distancing in stores, shop alone, plan ahead, and limit interactions by paying with debit or credit and packing their own reusable bags.

People are also reminded to show kindness and patience to staff and fellow shoppers.

For employee protection, the LCBO is encouraging shoppers to wear non-medical masks or face coverings; individuals should not attend stores if they’re experiencing symptoms of coronavirus.
