LCBO reintroducing extended hours starting next week

May 6 2020, 3:48 pm

The LCBO will be gradually expanding its current hours starting on May 14, marking the beginning of the end of the reduced hours initiated in late March.

Starting Thursday, May 14, over 360 stores will operate from 10 am until 9 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Other locations will continue to operate on the reduced schedule of 11 am until 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday, while most stores will be open from 11 am until 6 pm on Sundays.

The store locator feature on the LCBO’s website will be updated as of May 14 and customers are encouraged to check their local store hours, as they may vary. The expansion of store hours will continue to roll out in stages across the province through to the first week of June.

All LCBO stores will remain closed on Mondays until further notice.

Offering increased convenience and alleviating potential in-line congestion, the expansion of store hours follows previous actions taken to elevate store cleaning and sanitization protocols, introduce numerous physical distancing supports, and increased prevention awareness amongst employees, the LCBO said.

Still, customers are reminded to follow guidelines for physical distancing in stores, shop alone, plan ahead, and limit interactions by paying with debit or credit and packing their own reusable bags.

People are also reminded to show kindness and patience to staff and fellow shoppers.

For employee protection, the LCBO is encouraging shoppers to wear non-medical masks or face coverings, and continues to require that individuals do not attend stores if they’re experiencing symptoms of coronavirus.

The liquor store continues to offer ship-to-store and Same-Day Pickup, which today is offered in over 60 stores and includes separate pickup lines.

Stores are not yet accepting returns, so customers wishing to action those should hold on to product and receipts. All eligible returns will be honoured at a future date.

LCBO Convenience Outlets authorized to sell beverage alcohol are privately-owned and business hours may vary — you can contact your closest location to find out how their hours are impacted.
