Toronto's French bistro La Société closing on New Year's Eve

Dec 4 2019, 8:10 pm

Those who love restaurants with a little je ne sais quoi are going to need to find a new spot to brunch, because La Société will celebrate its final night of service this New Year’s Eve.

INK Entertainment’s award-winning French bistro opened in June of 2011 and has taken Yorkville to Europe for meals ever since.

Known for its fare français, luxe furnishings, and jaw-dropping (and huge) stained-glass ceiling, the 131 Bloor West spot inspired a second location opening in Montreal after only one year.

“We have had an amazing tenure on Bloor Street with La Société,” says Charles Khabouth, CEO of INK Entertainment, in a release.

“We attribute this lifespan to our talented chefs, staff, and of course our loyal customers. The city is evolving, as are we, and we think Toronto is ready for what we have coming.”

If this closure hits close to home, don’t fear. In the near future, you can expect a new addition to the INK Entertainment family to land in the La Société space.

Before final service, the restaurant will be hosting a special four-course farewell dinner on Tuesday December 10, featuring a $90 set menu and $45 wine pairing option.

And then, on the spot’s very last day, it’ll host a New Year’s Eve celebration to remember.

To celebrate and honour years spent in its Yorkville home, the restaurant will serve a $100 prix fixe menu starting at 7:30 pm on December 31, to be enjoyed alongside tunes by a DJ, and complimentary sparkling wine at midnight.

Until New Year’s, La Société will be open from 11:30 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday, 10:30 am to 11 pm Saturdays, and 10:30 am to 10 pm on Sundays.
