Yesterday, the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwara Council (OSGC) hosted Khalsa Day celebrations in Toronto.

And they got one heck of a turnout.

By the time the Khalsa Day Parade arrived at Nathan Phillips Square mid-afternoon, there were tens of thousands in attendance, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

According to the OSGC:

The first day of the month of Vaisakh marks one of the most important days of the Sikh calendar.  It was on this day, that the 10th Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji in 1699, formalized the Sikhs into the Order of Khalsa. This year we are celebrating the 350th anniversary of the advent of Guru Gobind Singh ji.

As well, all of the contributions collected yesterday will be donated to SickKids.

Check out photos and videos of the celebrations and crowds below.
