It's going to feel like 40°C in Toronto next week

Summer is officially here as temperatures heat up in the first week of July.

The Weather Network is forecasting next Tuesday, July 7, to feel like 40°C, and leading up to Tuesday will still be extremely warm.

According to the weather agency, Canada Day, July 1, is forecasted to feel like 39°C but the heat doesn’t stop there.

Thursday is expected to be mainly sunny with a high of 31°C and the third of the month will climb to one degree hotter than the day before at 32°C.

By Frirday, the humidex will feel like 39°C.

The weekend of July 4 and 5 is going to bring sun over the city. Both days are forecasted at a high of 30°C but with the humidex, both are also expected to feel like 36°C.

Monday won’t feel too different from the weekend, with a high of 31° and a humidex of 38°C.

Looking past Tuesday, July 8 and 9 may be a little rainy as both are at risk for a chance of a shower.

The City’s outdoor swimming pools will be open. Giving residents a place to cool down during the hot weather. Several beaches are also open with lifeguards.

The Toronto Islands are open for visitors, and ferries are running.

Be sure to drink lots of water, as officials suggest, if you plan to spend time outside.

Never leave any people or pets inside a parked vehicle, and be sure to social distance, as usual.
