Duke's Refresher has moved into the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood

The St. Lawrence Market location of Jack Astor’s has officially been replaced.

By the same parent company, Service Inspired Restaurants (SIR) has swapped the eatery out with Duke’s Refresher.

Now open at 73 Front Street East, the new restaurant is poised to offer a wide range of options for dining, drinking, and, believe it or not, playing.

In addition to food and beverage, the spot is equipped with retro arcade games including Taxi Pinball, Galaxian, Area 51, Buck Hunter, and more. If you’d prefer to get a little active, you can hit the mini basketball court, shuffleboard, pool and ping pong tables.

“This new location was heavily inspired by the more laid-back nature of the 70s and pays tribute to simpler times,” said Peter Fowler, CEO of SIR Corporation, in a release.

“From the eclectic mix of vintage décor and retro inspired rooms, to classic arcade games, Duke’s offers a lot of nostalgic elements to remind guests to not take themselves – and life – too seriously.”

When it comes to drinks, you can count on 38 beers on tap, $4 shots, 19 craft cocktails and a long list of tallboys. All there to wash down hand-stretched pizza, burgers, wings, bowls, and even brunch.

The space also features a gallery of velvet paintings, and a painting party event is in the works for those who like to get creative with a glass of wine in-hand.
