Toronto FreshCo employee tests positive for coronavirus

An employee at the FreshCo located near Jane and Finch in Toronto has tested positive for COVID-19.

The staff member last worked on June 1, according to the grocer’s online disclosure.

Prior to this diagnosis, the virus was confirmed in two staff members at the 2650 Lawrence Avenue East FreshCo in Scarborough and one at the location at 3400 Dundas Street West in the Junction.

Those employees last worked on May 20, 24, and 31, respectively.

Beyond FreshCo locations – which are owned by Sobeys Inc – the illness was identified in a staff member at the 2441 Lakeshore Road West Sobeys in Oakville, and at the store at 10,970 Airport Road Sobeys in Brampton.

Those employees last worked on May 19 and May 22.

There have also been a number of cases identified at Metro stores across the city.
