Ontario Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement today with the tourism minister.
On Wednesday, Ford and Tourism, Culture, and Sport Minister Lisa MacLeod will make their remarks at Queen’s Park.
Right now, all three sectors that MacLeod represents are significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Ontario, professional sport has been limited to just the NHL playing in the “hub” city of Toronto, while most live performances, concerts, and festivals are facing complex strategic decisions as indoor gatherings can hold a maximum of 50 people.
In Toronto, all major events are cancelled until October.
Tourism has also taken a hit, with a decrease in flights entering and leaving the country — and some flights have reported coronavirus cases.
The daily press briefing will be held at 1 pm.
