Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement in Vaughan, Ontario, on Monday afternoon.

The premier is providing remarks during Ontario’s second wave of COVID-19, which is seeing the highest number of cases since the pandemic began.

Caes have mostly been above 3,000 recently with Sunday’s 3,442, Saturday’s 3,056, Friday’s saw a dip with 2,998, Thursday’s 3,326, then below 3,000 again with Wednesday’s 2,961, and Tuesday’s 2,903.

Last week, Ford announced that Ontario would be under a second State of Emergency and a new Stay at Home order, which has been in effect since January 14.

This means everyone must stay home and only go out for essential trips, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing healthcare services, exercising or essential work.

There is also a Pfizer vaccine shortage in Canada, which will impact the whole country’s rollout plan for the next month.

The premier’s announcement will be at 1 pm, and it will be followed by a City of Toronto press conference at 2 pm.
