Ford to make announcement with Minister of Education this afternoon

Premier Doug Ford will be providing his daily announcement on Friday afternoon in the GTA as Ontario continues to report high COVID-19 cases.

Ford will be joined by Minister of Education Stephen Lecce, and Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Barbara Yaffe, to make an announcement in Etobicoke.

Despite Ford stating that Ontario’s COVID-19 projections show the spread of the virus declining across the province during Thursday’s press conference, Ontario’s top health officials say cases could be between 800 and 1,200 per day by the end of November.

On Sunday, Ontario saw a record-breaking 1,042 new COVID-19 cases, surpassing Saturday’s record for the highest case count since the pandemic made its way.

At that time, Saturday broke the record for most cases with 978.

The daily press briefing will take place at 1:00 pm.
