Ford to make announcement in North York on Tuesday afternoon

Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement in North York on Tuesday afternoon.

Ford will be joined by Rod Phillips, Minister of Finance, and Prabmeet Sarkaria, Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction.

Ontario has been reported high daily COVID-19 cases recently with 1,132 cases on Saturday, and 1,328 on Sunday — breaking single-day records in a row.

And Monday reported 1,242.

While the Ford government released a new colour-coded system to place regions into depending on their case count, the guidelines can be changed by the local medical officer of health to determine which measures will be most effective.

Toronto is expected to provide an update today on new restrictions as the city reported 504 cases on Monday, the highest to date.

The province’s press briefing will take place at 1 pm.
