If you’re a firefighter in Canada and you’re looking for a free meal, you’re in luck.

On May 4, Firehouse Subs is celebrating International Firefighters’ Day by inviting every active and retired firefighter across the country to enjoy a free medium sub at any of its Canadian locations.

“We’re proud to honour firefighters year-round through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada, and on May 4, we’re extending a small token of gratitude with free subs for firefighters, who dedicate their lives to keeping communities safe,” said Mike Hancock, president of Firehouse Subs Canada.

To redeem the sub, active-duty and retired firefighters must provide a valid Fire-Rescue ID Card, official credentials, or, when present in uniform, in-store. The offer is only available in-store, and redemption is limited to one per person.

Additionally, Firehouse Subs will be bringing back its Touch-the-Trunk event across the country on May 2.

This event will give families the chance to explore real fire trucks, meet local firefighters, and learn more about the heroes who serve their communities every day.

Fire stations all across Canada are participating. You can find a full list of participating locations online.

Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 by two brothers and former firefighters. In 2015, the restaurant expanded into Canada and currently has outposts in Ontario, B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. It currently operates around 32,000 locations in more than 120 countries and territories and is owned by Restaurant Brands International, which also owns Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes.
