Drake's Degrassi character shows up in New York park proposal
A 59-page New York City park development proposal doesn’t usually make headlines in Canada.
But a discovery in the renovation plan for Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park has brought this proposal close to home. On a page outlining the proposed accessible entrance ramp, Drake makes a mysterious appearance as Degrassi’s wheelchair Jimmy.
And he’s in good company. Looks like rapper Akon also made the rendering, with really no explanation.
According to the New York Post, spokesman Sam Biederman quoted a Drake lyric when asked about the Canadian addition to the park proposal.
“Started at the bottom of Fort Greene Park’s signature hill, now we’re here with the final design, which takes care to create a more welcoming park entrance – with improved views,” he said.
Oh, we see that added views in the end, Biederman. That was too good.
