Toronto’s year-round source for funnel cakes, Funnel Cake Express, might major in squiggly rounds of deep-fried dough but the Yonge and Wellesley concession shop has just recently introduced a brand new specialty from the deep fryer. Deep-fried cinnamon buns are the latest menu feature.
Available until the end of August, these swirled rounds of pastry and spice are everything you imagine: golden, crispy, and best of all, bite-sized.
They’re served with a scoop of salted caramel gelato and might just rival the epic eats from the CNE without ever visiting the midway.
Fear not if you miss the limited edition item. Funnel Cake Express is always deep frying something new. Past features have included deep-fried Pop Tarts while deep-fried candy bars are a menu staple.
