King West's Cibo Wine Bar closed due to major health infractions
Update: Cibo has responded to the shutdown. Find the story here.
Cibo Wine Bar, one of King West’s favourite spots for wine and an authentic slice, has been shut down by Toronto Public Health after a failed inspection.
The recent report shows two major infractions: “food premise maintained in manner permitting health hazard (Insects),” and “fail to protect against harbouring of pests.”
The closure comes after two prior health inspections conducted all within five days of each other. While the first twoĀ reports offered conditional passes, something kept these inspectors coming back.

The establishment has been closed because the health hazards present were unable to be addressed during the time of the inspection.
It remains to be seen how long the doors will be closed for.
But what is clear is that for now, you’ll need to find your ‘za and glass of wine somewhere else.
