Downtown watering hole temporarily shut down after failed DineSafe inspection

Crocodile Rock has closed up shop, and the water’s murky on why.

A recent DineSafe inspection cites a handful of infractions that led to the closure, while the spot’s Instagram account offers an unrelated explanation.

The inspection details are dated February 20, and describe a number of crucial and significant infractions.

Some of the notes include “fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration,” “handle ice in unsanitary manner,” and “food premise maintained in manner permitting health hazard (Rodents).”

Across the top of the details, the establishment is listed as “closed.”

Croc Rock took to social media on the same day as the inspection date to explain their reason for being closed.

“We are sorry to announce that due to a burst pipe in the building, Crocodile Rock will, unfortunately, be closed today. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you Friday for our usual $3 drinks and after work party,” the image’s caption reads.

Whether due to rodents and unsafe ice handling, or an (icy?) burst pipe, Crocodile Rock won’t be fulfilling your post-workday booze-needs for a few days.
