You can get buy-one-get-one funnel cakes downtown next May

If you thought funnel cakes were only for county fairs and food markets, today’s the day you’re joyfully proven wrong.

Funnel Cakes Express, located on Wellesley Street East, is serving up gelato, deep fried desserts and, of course, funnel cakes. All ideal treats as the weather gets warmer.

The trouble with funnel cakes is that they’re pretty freakin’ huge. It can be difficult to tackle one all by your lonesome.

So this spot’s developed a new, slightly smaller version of the classic confection: a 5″ one that they’re dubbing “personal size.” And to introduce it to the neighbourhood, this spot will be offering these puppies up BOGO-style.

From May 21 until June 16, any time you purchase a personal funnel cake, you’ll get a second one, free of charge.
