A sweet Butter Tart Taste-Off is happening near Toronto next month
There’s no need to travel across Ontario to find the best butter tart this season: all the best bakers specializing in the iconic Canadian treat are getting together under one roof.
The Kawarthas Butter Tart Taste-Off takes place in downtown Port Hope this year on September 22, alongside Cultivate: A Festival Of Food And Drink.

Entry is free to the annual event, which offers the chance to watch bakers from across the province face-off in four categories including Best 100 Mile Butter Tart (featuring local ingredients), Best Gluten-Free Butter Tart, Best Arts in Tarts (for the most creative) and Best Classic Butter Tart.
Aside from the bake-off, this festival will see butter tarts from across Ontario’s Butter Tart Tour for sale all in one spot, along with artisans, food vendors, and activities.
