DIY bubble tea has arrived in Toronto. Labothéry, a newly opened “lab-themed” tea room is offering thirsty Torontonians the chance to play “chemist” as patrons hand-select every ingredient before baristas whip them into an endless array of bevies.
“We believe in giving you, the customer, full control of how you want your drinks to be made, not only in terms of ice or sugar level, but every component of the drink altogether,” reads Labothéry’s Facebook page.
Unlike other bubble tea houses in Toronto, there’s no menu per se – just a range of flavour injections, petri dishes full of pearls, and more. Every creation comes down to cravings and imagination.
