As I settle in and wait for my left over Chinese food to warm up in the microwave, I'm left with time to reflect on all the incredible moments in 2016. It was a big year for everyone, a lot of change, a lot of good eating and many memorable moments. I'm thankful for everything that happened, the good and the bad, equally. 1. I travelled to places I've always wanted to go. My media trip to Thailand is always top of mind as one of the most incredible accomplishments I can think of. Then Spain to fulfill my tapas and paella dreams, followed by a tour through @OntarioSouthwest with the best of travel buddies (@thecuriouscreature, @chicdarling @seeusoontravel @canadianfashionista1 @twepi @tourismoxford) to eat and drink the treasures of local, high-quality, passion driven fare . 2. EatnMingle has grown to over 5500+ members on Meetup. The four year passion project that lead me to where I am today with a business driven by what it stood for since day one- great conversations with amazing people around incredible food. Ending the year with one last hoorah at the incredible @PaiToronto. Complete with exclusive off-menu dishes, eaten family style. Thank you @nuitregular for making the night special . 3. As a content creator in digital media and as a social media manager, I've been blessed to work with countless of iconic food businesses across the GTA and the globe. From the Thai Embassy with @ThaiSelectCa, to working side-by-side with my fav @mattdeanpettit, the list of campaigns and partners I've worked with to develop "cool stuff" impresses even myself. 4. I'm thankful for all the close friendships I've developed in just a year in a community that is thriving, fun and social. Thanks to everyone who has crossed paths and has shared in a hug or handshake with me. Shoutout goes to my fam @phone.eats.first, @eatfamous, @hypebelly, @thesocialfeedto and @chewtoronto. Thank you to everyone who has made 2016 special. Miso Butter Corn Ramen @ramenraijin January Ramen Special featuring a light blend of miso chicken broth topped with cha shu, corn, butter, green onion, and seasonal vegetables. It had a lighter contrast than their regular Tonkotsu miso ramen. Their corn & seasonal vegetables brings out the sweetness of this chicken miso broth. Whenever I get asked from people what my favourite restaurant is, or for a restaurant recommendation, I always say @richmondstation. You can't go wrong here and their menu is always evolving. I can never seem to come on a day where they are serving steak though on their daily special menu.
