Toronto steakhouse known for its $1,000 Surf and Turf now has a cocktail that's even more expensive

Step aside, $1,000 steak and lobster, an opulent steakhouse in Toronto just introduced a new cocktail that’s seven times more expensive.

Got a bit of extra cash burning a hole in your pocket? And by “a bit,” we of course mean $7,000, before tax? If so, Animl Steakhouse has a new cocktail on the menu that might just quench your thirst.

Known for its elaborate offerings, including a $1,000 Surf and Turf dinner that comes with a 2 lb. lobster tail and a 60-oz Wagyu tomahawk steak, the Studio 54-inspired King West steakhouse is now blowing that dish out of the water with a new offering that makes the Surf and Turf look like small potatoes.

For a cool $7,000, you’ll soon be able to order the Diamond Drip cocktail.

No need to pinch yourself, you read that right. It’s a single cocktail that retails for $7,000. In case you were curious, you could pick up 81 bottles of Veuve Cliquot Brut for the same price or, if you prefer, 3,255 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

You’ll walk away with more than just the experience of sipping a great cocktail amid Animl’s funky, opulent interiors, though.

The new cocktail is a collaboration between the restaurant and Toronto-based fine jeweller, Jared Brown Designs. Is the name Diamond Drip starting to make a little more sense?

The cocktail, which features a GRAN PATRÓN base and notes of cocoa and smoked cedar, arrives in a bespoke jewellery box, with a hidden bracelet tucked inside.

The cocktail comes with a bespoke bracelet (Betty Shin Binon)

The bracelet, specially designed for Animl by Jared Brown, is crafted from 18k yellow gold and includes 2 karats worth of diamonds. That’s one way to garnish a cocktail.

“It’s an unexpected pairing; a handcrafted cocktail served with a diamond bracelet; designed to spark joy, start conversations, and turn an extraordinary night out into something truly unforgettable,” says Brown.

Okay, we’ll be the first to admit that all of this feels, for lack of a better word, incredibly extra, but, as over-the-top as it is, it’s also for a good cause.

Also, 10 per cent of every Diamond Drip sold (that’s $700 per drink) will be donated to the Prince Hall Family and SickKids Foundation to support the hospital’s ongoing treatment of kids across Canada.

It kind of feels like a win-win… for everyone except whoever foots the bill, that is.

The Diamond Drip is available at Animl Steakhouse starting Monday, Sept. 29, until New Year’s Eve 2025.
